    Adopted Career Lattice Model

    We have found that these days, people don't set themselves in concrete when it comes to their job role, unlike in the past, when they may have worked within the same department for 30 years. We take advantage of people's desire to learn new skills and improve, and so we have adopted the Career Lattice Model.

    The Career Lattice enables employees to move across departments, while still progressing through their career, rather than following a traditional Career Ladder in which they would progress up a narrow path of specialization. With a Career Lattice model, emphasis is placed on developing aptitude and upskilling to deliver career progression.

    Implementing a Career Lattice model within an organization requires sponsorship from the executive team, and implementation across several areas, including employee communications, recruitment and onboarding, compensation, and learning and development.

    Utilizing the Career Lattice model, an employee from our manufacturing department could choose to move towards an engineering design role. Another example could be an administrator moving towards a generalist HR role, or into L&D. Moves within a Career Lattice are typically to related areas, although this does not have to be the case.
